Background Myocardial fibrosis is a key healing response following myocardial infarction (MI). Although scar formation MI considered complete by 12 weeks, its exact time course unknown. Fibroblast activation protein factor in fibrogenesis that expressed activated fibroblasts the myocardium MI. Hybrid positron emission tomography cardiovascular magnetic resonance (PET/MR) with radiolabelled fibroblast inhibitor (68Ga-FAPI) an emerging method to measure vivo activity. Purpose To investigate timing activity ST-elevation using 68Ga-FAPI PET/MR Methods Twenty patients underwent multi-timepoint hybrid <1, 2, 4, weeks acute They were compared prior established (>12 months) healthy controls who single-timepoint determine chronic infarcts respectively. All participants imaged 30 min administration 100–200 MBq 68Ga-FAPI-04. Infarct zone uptake was quantified tissue-to-background ratio (TBRmax) after correction blood-pool left ventricle. Comparisons between timepoints group assessed ANOVA repeated measures post hoc Bonferroni correction, groups two-tailed t-test. Results Participants predominantly middle-aged men (Table). Focal localised areas within infarct peri-infarct zones on late gadolinium enhancement imaging (Figure). In MI, there substantial consistent TBRmax values at 1, 2 4 (Table Figure). Though started decline week they remained persistently elevated had modestly increased control Conclusions Intense observed throughout first month this starts it remains markedly even several years infarction, indicating low-level feature

prediction of myocardial tissue loss by quantitative densitometric myocardial blush parameters following st-elevation myocardial infarction

tissue level myocardial perfusion is one of the most important prognostic factors after successful recanalisation of the occluded coronary artery in patients suffering acute st elevation myocardial infarction (stemi). the primary objective of the present study was to examine the relationship between videodensitometric myocardial perfusion parameters as assessed on coronary angiograms directly f...

ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction

Background—In the United States, efforts are underway to improve timely access to percutaneous coronary intervention in ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). The Joint Commission (TJC) and the American College of Cardiology National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) have developed standardized definitions and clinical performance measures for STEMI. The purpose of this study was to dete...

Mistaken ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction.

A 66-year-old female was transferred from an outside hospital for possible ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Patient’s medical history was significant for diabetes mellitus, hypertension, atrial fibrillation, and multiple sclerosis. Electrocardiogram (EKG) was...

Tombstoning ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction

Tombstoning ST elevation myocardial infarction can be described as a STEMI characterized by tombstoning ST-segment elevation. This myocardial infarction is associated with extensive myocardial damage, reduced left ventricle function, serious hospital complications and poor prognosis. Tombstoning ECG pattern is a notion beyond morphological difference and is associated with more serious clinical...

ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction simulations

The authors present the methods of ECG signal simulation especially ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction known as STEMI. It occurs in the case of blood flow around and towards heart problem. It is strongly associated with a heart attack due to low level of oxygen transported to the heart muscle. The most common symptoms of this disease are chest pain, breath shortness or sweating. There are many ...
